Frequently asked questions about risk assessments
When do I need a risk assessment?
As soon as you have employees. The duty under Section 5 ArbSchG and the documentation under Section 6 ArbSchG apply regardless of company size.
How often must it be updated?
Whenever working conditions change, for example due to new machines, substances or processes, and after accidents. For work equipment it must also be reviewed regularly (Section 3(7) BetrSichV).
Does psychological stress really have to be included?
Yes. It is explicitly named in the law (Section 5(3) No. 6 ArbSchG). This refers to working conditions such as time pressure, work organisation or working hours, not the health of individuals.
Is there a template I can simply fill in?
Templates from the accident insurance institutions are a good start, but they must be adapted to your company. This is where I support you.
How much does a risk assessment cost?
That depends on the size and industry of your company. You receive a quotation in advance.
