Inspection of lifting accessories in Bremen and Lower Saxony

Chains, webbing slings and round slings withstand a lot in daily use, until they fail. I inspect your slings and lifting gear and tell you clearly which items may still be used.

Frequently asked questions about lifting accessories

How often must lifting accessories be inspected?

At intervals of no more than one year by a competent person (DGUV Rule 109-017, No. 8.2). Depending on conditions, shorter intervals may be required. Round steel chains additionally need a crack test at least every three years.

Do you also carry out crack tests on chains?

Crack testing is a special test with its own procedure. I keep track of the deadline and tell you when it is due and what to look for when commissioning it.

When must a sling be discarded?

When wear or damage means it is no longer safe. It must then no longer be used. For chains, DGUV Rule 109-017 lists among others: mean link thickness reduced by more than 10 % of nominal thickness or elongation of the outer nominal length by more than 3 % (No. 8.4), plus for example deformation, cracks or fractures.

Who may attach loads?

Only employees who are suitable, instructed and have proven their competence. DGUV Rule 109-017 recommends issuing the assignment in writing (No. 3.4).

How long must I keep the inspection record?

At least until the next inspection (Section 14(7) BetrSichV, DGUV Rule 109-017, No. 8.5).

How much does the inspection cost?

That depends on the number and type of items. You receive a quotation in advance.
